Financial Stress...

The root of most of my problems has to deal with financial matters. Got some weighing pretty heavily on me right now. I had some pretty hefty, expensive dental work done this year. It sucks, but it needed to be done. The expense will be well worth the effort, but yeah. Hefty.

In November, I have an up and coming cruise that I really, really want to go on, but now I’m seriously questioning whether or not I should. I consider it an opportunity of a lifetime, as I’ll be going with five of the most amazing friends ever and be getting an opportunity to see some amazing places. I would sorely miss out on the experience, and be really upset if I didn’t get a chance to go. I’m pretty sure I can swing it, regardless of the other stuff, but that doesn’t make me less worried about the other stuff.

So, rather than sit here and be stressed out, I’m trying to think of solutions to my problems, ways that I can make some extra money between now and November, and lessen the issue of the debt I have incurred. That money would not only go towards my dental bill, but also towards any other debts lingering over my head. However, I want to do this in such a way that I’m also not overtaxing myself and trying to do too much at once. So, I have some priorities I need to consider.

I’ll be mulling this over for the next few days, and putting together a plan of action. If you have any suggestions on ways to make money between now and then, I’d love to hear them. That’s outside of getting a second job, which is an obvious choice – and something I’ll likely be seriously considering.

Do you have a Flexible Spending Plan set up for health expenses? A lot of employers offer it. If so, all of your out-of-pocket dental expenses are covered under that and you should get that back, up to the maximum you set aside for your FSP (pre-tax, even).

Are there any large expenses you can cut between now and then?

Is there anything you can sell?

Can you write an Associated Content article in 15 minutes like Steph can? Do 3-4 of those a day, that's $15-20 a day * 100 days or so = $1500-2000.
