DVD Frustrations...

So, my computer has decided that it's just not going to burn any DVD - like, ever. It's got burning capabilities, however it's not seeing the blank DVDs as burnable - they're marked read only, when clearly they are writable - they're BLANK!!

For crying out loud!!

Lisa, who is frustrated and upset beyond belief.

If you can save out an ISO or some other DVD-ready file, I can burn it for you. I can even promise not to look at it, if that's what you want.

It's DVD ready. But it's in a disk image (.dmg). Not sure if I can transfer that to you or not - donno if Windows supports .dmgs. I'll have to check into that, and call you after work.

DMGs for Macs are like mini DVDs that you can store on your computer and open and use whenever you want. It's a compressed version of a DVD that you "mount" whenever you are ready to use it. Once open, it works like a normal DVD would with various programs. So there's a TS_AUDIO and a TS_VIDEO file that can be burned once it is opened.

Hrm. You can send me a DMG and I can probably get a program to burn it as an ISO or whatever.

Did you do everything that these instructions suggest (I don't know Mac)?

Thank you for the offer! However, after much putzing around, I managed to finally get it to work - and it is now happily playing on my TV.
