Last Week in Review

Sunday, the 6th, I went out with Paul and saw Harry Potter again. Paul and I had dinner at Chevy's right before the movie. The waitress dropped our food, so she said that she'd give us a discount because we had to wait a bit longer. Thankfully, we got tickets to the later matinee. We ended up getting the meal for free. That was some discount!

I've confirmed my belief that the movie simply didn't strike any chords with me this time, even if it was supposed to be the better movie. Something just seemed very much missing, pushed through, rushed. I didn't like that feeling. More needed to happen. I was disappointed. I hope the next few movies aren't going to have that same rushed feeling. They can't. Otherwise, they'll ruin the films.

The remainder of the week was spent playing chauffeur, at least until Friday. My father went to the doctor to get cataract surgery. His surgery was on Wednesday so I had to drive him in and then drive him back, and then make sure that he got to his really early appointment on Thursday. I hate getting up early, but it's my dad and since he's the only parent I have left, I had no problems doing it for him. With one exception. He's a back seat driver. He's old and set in his ways, at 64, and so he thinks he knows best. Father knows best right? So, he questioned everything I did, which I found rather annoying. But, thankfully, he caught on that he was doing it and tried real hard to stop. He didn't, mind you, but he tried and that's what counts most.

Friday I went back to GB. I didn't leave until much later in the afternoon though. No one was home when I got there. Not too surprising. Darrick and Jen were gone all week apparently. They went south. To Florida, I think, to see his Uncle Bob, who is a real nutcase. At least, that's the impression I got when he got back and started looking at pictures on his computer. So, I had the house to myself all weekend, more or less. Yay! I kept the weekend pretty much to myself. I went shopping on Saturday - getting new clothes for potential job interviews and a few other odds and ends - and went to see The Stepford Wives. A VERY good movie. Interesting. And has a nice plot twist at the end. Overall, very enjoyable, in a mysterious sort of way.

Sunday, Paul and I went out again. This week we tried out a different restaurant at the mall and saw Riddick. Thankfully, there were no mishaps this time at the restaurant. Yay! I liked the movie and had an enjoyable time. Of course, Paul and I tormented each other. No weekend would be complete without that!
