Rearranging Furniture

I have decided it sucks. Or rather, the room where I want to arrange furniture does. Maybe both. When bluekitsune moved she gave me some of her rattan furniture. I placed it in the living room temporarily, trying to figure out the best way to have it mesh with the room. I've arranged it four different times tonight and I just can't find the right feng shway (sp) for it. I even took all of the books off my shelf and moved that. I wanted an area that seemed cozy and inviting, but I have lots of open space.

Anyone know any good decorating books or good at moving stuff around? Help!

Longest pieces of furniture should be placed along the wall. Shorter pieces should be perpendicular. The focus of the room, may or may not be the TV. Furniture should not be positioned to where it blocks out natural paths through the apartment.

You're totally doing it wrong, don't you know you have to have sex on new furniture, when you move it into your house, to break it in? If you need help with that, let me know. *winks and hugs*
