Christmas Recap...

Despite the sadness of having to put my cat, Gray, down on Christmas Eve, Christmas itself turned out not to be such a bad day. I slept in until about 10:30, which is something I've been doing since coming home to my dad's house, and eventually got up to open gifts and such.

I had already opened the nice presents from Nancy and been using the one since Thursday. She got me Buffy, Season 2 and a gift certificate to Bed, Bath and Beyond.

On Christmas, I received two gift cards to Borders, a gift card to JC Pennys and Stargate SG-1 seasons 1 and 2. I also got a nice new bath robe since my other one is old and needs to be put to pasture. It is a rich teal blue cheniel (sp) bath robe. Nice and soft and cuddly. Yum.

After pressies, Loretta, Dad and I started working on dinner preparations. I made a cheese snack tray and a veggie snack tray, while they made the rest. In between people started to arrive, munching on the cheese and veggies while dinner was being cooked, and helping out where they could, and opening gifts.

We got a surprise when my niece and nephew, Melissa and David, decided to come too. We hadn't seen David for quite sometime. It was good to catch up with everyone and some people stayed here until about 6:30 last evening, which is quite unusual for us. It was a happy time, and a nice time of reflection for us.

Today I went to my sister Susan's house, where she has a regulation size pool table in her living room, and played pool for the first time in about 10 years. Was pretty good too. Kicked since nice butt, but er... mostly that's because they were making too many mistakes :) Still, I won like 5 games, which is pretty cool!

Had fun overall, despite the sad times this holiday season. I think before long Goldie will realize that Gray is gone and start to be lonely. Right now there are no plans to replace Gray in my father's household, but we'll see.
