Ritas/Coldstone and Weekend Plans

They just opened a Rita’s Italian Ice place near to where I live. It’s within walking distance if I actually wanted to walk there. Not too far from the Rita’s, across 450, they’re putting in a Coldstone Creamery, which could also be within walking distance, but much farther than Rita’s. Both of these places are extremely dangerous to have around, especially the Coldstone Creamery if it’s anything like Maggie Moos. Rita’s is dangerous enough as it is without Coldstone.

This weekend, starting tonight, I’m off to the Eastern Shore of MD. My sister Susan, on Tuesday evening, woke me up at 10:30 to let me know that she’s having a cookout on Saturday. The time is being noted because it was one of those very, very rare times I actually went to bed before 12. I think I mentioned this in an earlier post.

On Wednesday, my friend Debbie text-messaged me asking what I was up to this week. I haven’t seen her or her husband, Eric, since I moved in October. They helped with the move and cut out early before I could buy them dinner for their effort. Since I was going to the Eastern Shore anyway, I decided to go to Easton for dinner with Debbie, as a girls’ night out sort of thing, and going back to their place a bit to hang with Debbie and Eric. I’m doing that tonight. It’s been way too long since I just hung out with them. Way too long. Eric even made the point of saying that I’m more than welcome to drop in any Friday night and game with them since they do tabletop on Fridays. The drive is just horribly long, otherwise I’d do that more often than the handful of times I go back home each year.

I am not looking forward to bridge traffic or rolling down Rt. 50 to Easton with all the Ocean City idiots headed over the bridge and in that direction as well, but I’m hoping since I get off work at 4 that bridge traffic won’t be too much of a pain. It helps to already be packed and ready to go.

I will concur that Coldstone Cremery is very dangerous. ;) They take your ice cream and "handmix" all your extra stuff into it (chocolate chips, Oreo pieces, fudge, whatever. They have tons of add-ins). They have huge portions. Even the small is pretty big. The only thing that helps them be prohibitive is that they are pretty pricey. Have fun this weekend! :)
