Warcraft and Cleaning...

Last evening I played World of Warcraft from the time I got home until about 9:00 pm. I put my Draenai Hunter, Kaylina, and her kitty, Trouble, through their paces and managed to get her to 17th level. I started working on the quest leading up to Deadmines, and then took her to Draenai land so I can land the rep points for the baby quests, which puts you at honored in all Alliance areas, and Revered from the Draenai area, once you’ve completed all the quests all the way through Bloodmyst Island just for doing the Draenai quests alone (which is essentially at Level 20!!)

When I stopped playing, I started working on one of my crafting projects, to finish a section of it, and then discovered once I’d completed it that I couldn’t find the other pre-cut bits and pieces I’d laid out for the rest of it. This lead to some general frustration on my part, as the only place I’d put these bits and pieces were on my desk, and my desk was a wreck. So, true to my nature, that sparked the cleaning bug in me. So, I cleaned off my desk and wiped it down to get rid of all the dust and grime that might have accumulated, and then basked upon my very neat, very clean desk.

That lead me to think about my mood swings lately, and then I realized that I was particularly unhappy at the current state of my room in general. My room is essentially the only living space I have in the house where I live – I rent the room, and have use of the house, but no part of the house except the room is “mine”, so everything that I own is in that one room, and it tends to get rather messy and cluttered very quickly – particularly since I have a tendency to be lazy about putting clothes away when they are clean and what not. So, I cleaned. Mostly, though, I cleaned to find the missing bits and pieces. The general unhappiness that’s associated with a messy room being slightly fixed was just a nice by product of my frustrations at not finding these crafty bits.

I think if I could organize my clutter, and put it in a fashion that’s both presentable and easy to maintain, I’d be happier for it. As it stands, I’m not sure what to do with some my stuff as it doesn’t feel as if there’s space for it. I have two under the bed containers which have been supremely helpful in part of the organization. I think, seriously, I’m going to have to make a trip to Ikea in very near future to help facilitate some organizational harmony. And, following that, figure out a system where by the junk gets constantly thrown out and that things are properly kept.

Really, sincerely, I wish I was one of those people who could find a nice, neat place for everything so my room looked perfect all the time, but I do not appear to be one able to be one of those people. I marvel at their ingenuity and ability to keep things perfect all the time.

I clean like that in spurts, too. Every week, I try to clean ONE room top to bottom and keep it on a rotation, but man... my apartment is so messy right now. Being sick throws a wrench in EVERYTHING - haven't RPed, haven't cleaned, haven't gone grocery shopping, haven't pet the kitties for more than three seconds...

And I'm totally jealous of your 17, as I can't seem to get past 13 before getting shot with the "Didn't I JUST kill these two levels ago?" bug.

You’ll get there. There’s lots of different stuff to do. I just happen to know most of the Alliance areas pretty well for the lower levels, and so I move around, A LOT, just to shake things up. I’ll either go to dwarf country or elf land, or human land, or draenai land, just to have different scenery and eye candy and to do the lower level quests, which – even if some ARE greys (extremely easy), they sometimes give out GOOD XP. And, ya know, prizes and reputation too. Most of my uber leveling has been from going around and just getting quest XP. Tonight’s goal will be to finish some more of the low end Draenai quests and then to go back to Sentinel Hill and work on the quests that’ll make me ready for Deadmines. We’ll see how far I manage to get.

Sounds like a plan! My goal tonight is to hit ten and start my Shaman build :) Yey. Digging the shaman much much more than the rogue, I tell you :) Then, tomorrow, I have Firan stuff to do, but damned if I'm not going to make 15 by the end of the weekend.

*grin* Shaman characters are sooooo powerful. Especially since you can use more than one totem at once, once you start getting other elementals. My favorite totem? The one that heals you while you are fighting!! That's water, coupled with the one that does lesser damage (earth) and the one that causes damage (fire) and using them all at once!! ;)

Hee, I'm glad my mother surprised me with it, otherwise I may not have known the wonderfulness that was the Shaman!
