Writing Goals...

There is one hard and fast goal I have to meet this year for writing, and that's to work on what I've started for NaNoWriMo to completion, if possible. This, in part, goes hand in hand with the last post, but also for other reasons.

Thinking back to school work, I got some of my best work done when I was at the library. There's fewer distractions and I can concentrate more. I realized recently that I have never set foot in the local Bowie Library since moving hear a year and a half ago. I want to change that.

So, what I think I'm going to do is institute a "Library Nights" rule for myself. This will be one or two designated nights week that I go to the library, computer in hand, and just write. While my computer can afford other distractions, easily enough, I've purposefully not loaded it with any games that do not require an internet connection. And, while I realize most libraries today are modernized and HAVE net connections, I won't be there to use it.

I think the hardest part will be to get myself in the proper mindframe to start and continue this. I'm not sure, yet, what nights I'm going to work on doing this, but at least it's a step in the right direction for me. I've needed a change in my daily habits, to shake things up a bit, and this will be the best way to do so, I think; especially given I've decided the theatre community just doesn't want or need any spare hands free of charge out here, which is sadly disappointing. I guess they have all the help they can get.
