Maryland Hall...

... Apparently had misplaced my email from February telling them I'm interested in volunteering and have just now gotten back to me. While the response is late, it's better late than never -- unlike the Bowie places I've attempted who don't seem to care about whether people want to help them or not. It's not exactly what I wanted to do, but it is a step in the right direction, and there's likely contacts to the other groups mentioned. I'll likely make a decision soon. Included is the email below:

Dear Ms. Christie; I have just recently found this email; somehow I misplaced it. My sincere apologies.

We do not have ample opportunities for volunteers in the theatre arts as we do not have a theatre company of our own at Maryland Hall. We do have an active group of volunteer ushers; we will most likely have an orientation and subsequent usher training in the fall. The ushers assist with all of our programs which you might want to review on our web site, www.marylandhall.org. (Actually, all fall date are not yet up there). I am attaching a sign up sheet and a bit of information; if you decide to return it to me I will notify you once we set a date.

Otherwise, if you would like to volunteer with theatre arts, I would highly recommend the two great Annapolis companies, Colonial Players or Bay Theatre of Annapolis. They both use volunteers quite extensively.

I hope you continue your interest in the arts and I look forward to hearing from you.

A reply is a good start -- finally! It was nice of her to point you in the direction of other companies too. What do you think about them?
