It Is Done; Huge Sigh of Relief

My cruising vacation is completely paid off, except for any shore excursions and the return flight home. I’d purchased the flight over yesterday. I just made the final payment for the cruise today. I’m not as worried about paying for the rest, just yet, as some of the money that I’ve used to pay for the trip is coming back to me – I’d paid for the second person rooming with me, for now. And, if it turns out that person can’t make it – that’s fine, I can still go and I still have the room paid off; shore excursions will just be slimmer than expected, but that’s something I can live with.

This all comes on the heels of getting good and bad news from the insurance company and the dentists office yesterday. The insurance covered all the work, except for three crowns. I’d already paid $2600, so that leaves me with $1332.38 left to pay. I’ve looked at all my payment options, and can easily do that within this next month. This means I won’t have a dark cloud of dentistry debt hanging over my head while I think about cruising in November. This doesn’t mean all the work is done, but it does mean that all the major OMG MUST DO NOW work is completed, and I can breathe easier about it.

Now…? Now I need to break it to my family, in general, that I shall not be coming home for Thanksgiving. Maybe we can have Thanksgiving earlier in November, or the following week. Hmm. Food for thought.

Enjoy the cruise! I've been on several over the last 7 years and enjoyed everyone. Depending on where you go, most shore excursions through the cruise line really aren't worth it. You can usually do the same things on your own and cheaper if you just do a little research and planning ahead.

SO and I went on a Mexican cruise one year, stopped in Catalina Island and went snorkeling. Cost us about half of what it would have through the cruise line to do the same thing. Cruises are definitely a lot of fun. :)

So no return flight ticket yet? Thinking maybe you'll just stay in Florida? ;)

What Steph said! The plane ticket going over was $105, which was the cheapest we've seen yet that doesn't leave at 6am (which was $77). It's the ticket home that's going to be the hard one to get cheaper, because we're coming back Thanksgiving weekend, but we're diligently looking out for our ride home. Barring that, Southwest has a nice fall back of $208, which is still cheaper than any other airline out there.

I am so behind on this, and trying to catch up with my life. It has been stupid kinda crazy. I am certainly not backing out on such an awesome time. We all good. Send me the bill, Lisa. :)

BTW - we are still good to stay at my parents house. I will be running the ye olde Mauzey shuttle company on Friday. Taxis if for whatever reason things don't work out are like $45.00. I know because I took one from my parents house to MCO.

Also, both my parents should be good to go to shuttle us to and from the Cape.

Assuming everything goes according to play, Adam, Steph and I all managed to get the same flight, 472, from Air Tran on Friday, November 16th. We get in at 4:15 PM. That's discounting delays, changes, etc, etc. So, you'll only need to come around once.

And yay! Glad to hear you can still make it, and we'll work the other stuff out as things move along. I know things have been rough for you personally these last few months, with everything going on. You deserve some time to rest, relax and just have fun.
