Back To The Writing Grind...

Chomping at the bit to get back to writing again. Went through the 21 pages that I have so far to refresh my memory on where I left off, and where I need to pick back up again. Resisted the urge to cringe and edit, but I did make some notes on some changes that I want to eventually go back and make.

There are still some problem spots I need to work out, but I figured I'd rather just work them out as best I can, knowing they likely won't work anyway, just to get a framework down to fix later. I think once I have a completed set of scenes I can go back and patch things together or edit things out, or find other ways to make things work.

However, given for one scene I have two different venues written already - because I had gone back to change it in a moment of doubt and weakness, that makes what I ant to do with it somewhat difficult. Do I go back to what I originally wrote, or continue as is? I'm thinking continue - and then see what I can meld from the original work into the piece, and see if I'm happier that way. That might be for the best.

I'd really like to say that I'm going to participate in NaNoWriMo for real this year, however I'm pretty much thinking that attempting to write 50,000 words in a month is too much of a pickle for me to chew. 5,000 words, if any, is usually my max. I also think I need to see this one book through, from beginning to end, before I can start on any other projects. I also suppose at this point, it's my pet project.

I sat down on Friday and worked through a schedule for fitting writing into my evenings. I doubt I'll stick to it, (already I'm not), but it is a ready made plan for when I want to sit down and get some stuff done. Or, perhaps I should just rearrange the schedule to fit what I know will work better after thinking about it.

Originally, I put down writing from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, but I know that's not going to work well. I think what's better is to start writing from the time I come home until the time I eat dinner, which should give me anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour of good writing time - which will pace me out fairly well if I commit to it.

Presently I have 7 scenes out of those 21 pages, which will either grow or be merged into something else after I'm finished the first draft. I'll worry about the exacting details later.
