Mostly Moved...

All of my stuff is over at the new house, but because absolutely /none/ of the people I was counting on came to help, all of my furniture, except for one dresser and my bed - which I had to beg them to take upstairs, is sitting in the garage. Scott made some crack when Nancy asked him to move the bed for me, telling her to ask me if I liked to sleep on the floor. There's some part of me that knows he was likely joking, but I didn't find it the least bit funny when I had no one to help me and I was counting on them to at least get that done.

I still have several boxes in the garage which I somehow need to find a way to get upstairs this week without killing myself or injuring my back. Aside from figuring that out, and figuring out how to get the rest of my heavy furniture usptairs, I'm done. All of my stuff is there. I'm told everything MUST get up there this week.

I am writing this at work. We do not expect to get the internet service transferred until this afternoon, that's if Verizon actually makes it out there. Yesterday was spent looking for things, and giving myself time to get acquainted with where I put stuff.

This weekend has been nothing but an experience in nerves and frustration, but at least it's largely done and over with and I can focus on moving forward with things in my life - and be secure in the fact that I have a place to live for now.

That's no good, having people default on a move. Can you borrow or rent a hand truck for a day, perhaps at U-Haul?

The furniture is already at the house. Renting a hand truck is /not/ going to get it up a set of stairs that has a corner that must be turned. I'm talking a rather heavy desk and armoire here.

Ugh. My daughter's house has a U-shaped staircase and I all too well remember the hassle trying to get the furniture et al up those stairs. It does look like you'll need people power. :(
