Fondest Memories

This is in response to ashamanmat's question in Lisa's Meme post.

The question was:

Have you ever wanted to tell me something but never did, if so and it's too personal you can E-Mail it too me :) If not, then what is for fondest memory of me, growing up or within the past 6 months...

We never really knew each other that well. Not really. I think we only knew one another for a year, maybe a year and a half. It's hard to tell really, and to count that far back. Given that, there's not really anything that I've wanted to tell you, but couldn't, not even with your most recent visit in January.

But, I can move on to fond memories. Gosh. There are so many. My Junior year in High School was the when I became fairly close to your sister, Ginny, and I started hanging out at your house and getting to know everyone; you, your twin brother Ben, your sister Sharon, your brother Leroy, and of course Barbara, who we all called Ginny. I consider that year one of my best years in High School, actually. I finally got the chance to feel what it was like to have a group of friends that I could hang out with and do nearly anything with. I was rather sad that you all moved away, but life went on and I continued my friendships with the people I met through your family. At least, until I went to college and then we lost touch.

Hmm. Memories... I remember that you brought roses and chocolate to me quite often. Sometimes you even had roses delivered to the grocery store where I worked. That made many people rather jealous! My mother was particularly fond of the chocolates, because I always shared them with her. Looking back, I now wonder at how you had so much money to spend at that age! But, you almost never came over without some sort of gift in hand.

You and Ben used to always come over and hang out and play video games and stay so late that your parents would get angry that you'd didn't call to get picked up. Sometimes, that wasn't until really late at night, like 10pm or 11pm.

Then, there's the hell date we went on, as friends, though it didn't become that until after the date had ended. You got into soooooo much trouble! We were supposed to meet Ginny and Mike at a restaurant in Dover, DE, and then head over to the movies. They didn't get to the restaurant until late, and we didn't wait around for them, thinking they'd decided not to come, or something like that, and so we went to the movies without them. Your parents were so mad, but we had fun watching the movie.

Most recently, I found that I enjoyed talking to you while you were here. It was nice to be able to catch up and find out more about you and learn more about 'life in Utah' after you moved away, and of course being shocked to learn about some of the things that you did back in Centreville. You were such a wild child and you hid it so very well!

I hope that answers your question!
