Yesterday, I spent the better part of the evening doing financial foo. Why, you might ask? Well, I decided it was time to figure out where my money is going. I'm the type of person that stresses, constantly, about money issues. I never seem to have enough, and I wanted to know why. So, I decided to put Quicken to good use, since I have the program and all.

The end result is that I certainly spend more than I make. This is something that needs to change. I'd bene planning on keeping records of my spending habits again. I'd started in October, but after the whole Darrick mess my ability to stay focused on such a task had well... gone away. I'm in a good place now where I can make sure I see it through.

So, for this month, I'm going to see what my spending habits are like. I'd already gone back and added all the receipts and charges that I'd made for the year into Quicken, but the cash that I've spent is largely unaccounted for. Hopefully, by doing this, I can also curb some rather nasty spending habits of mine, and maybe start saving some money again. Saving money is very important to me.

Of course, this will be a bit harder to do while juggling a mortgage, but we'll see. Other people do it, so I should be able to as well. It'll just take some creative thinking on my part.

I use to have that problem, now when I get my pay check, I take 1/2 and put it into the bank, then fill up my car, and the rest is what i have to work with for the next 2 week :)
