Big Fish - A Date

Dating. Dating is usually an awkward thing for me. That's because I'm usually searching for the right words to express my thoughts or tidbits of conversation. Conversation and I don't go hand in hand very well. In public, unless I've got a topic I can really talk about, I'm the quiet shy type. I tend to stick to myself, sit on the outside of other people's conversations and occasionally interject in the conversation if there's something I feel I can add to it. Usually, that's not often.

So, today, I was asked on a date. On a whim I accepted. No, not Matt. Someone else. I knew the person, at least somewhat, and thought spending some time with him would be enjoyable. I also knew I shared some common interests, so the date wouldn't be so scary. We decided to go see a movie. I spent almost an hour scouring fandango.com to see what movies were playing where.

We met at the house Darrick and I purchased in Glen Burnie. From there, we discussed which movie to see and then headed out. We went to Marley Station, which to my pleasure I found was only about 5 minutes from the house. I hadn't realized we were so close. This house is also close to Arundel Mills, apparently.

We went to see Big Fish. We were early. The movie didn't start for another hour. So, we grabbed some food beforehand. While there, we chatted about this and that. After wards, we walked around the mall for a bit, until finally we went to get our seat. We must both be somewhat clumsy because we both ended up knocking over our drink during the course of the movie.

The movie itself was interesting. It wasn't like any other movie I've seen - except maybe What Dreams May Come - and that was even more surreal than Big Fish. It was nice. A good change, and something with a plotted theme. Reconciliation.

After the movie, we went back to the house in Glen Burnie. We sat and chatted for a while, talking about various interests, my situation with Darrick and a few other things. Eventually, we noticed the time and it was starting to ice outside, so we decided it was time to head out.

All in all I had a very good time, and wouldn't mind going out again.
