Quiet Reflections

Life has been pretty simple lately, and sometimes simple is good. My days are typical. I get up, I shower, I get dressed, I may or may not eat something and head to work. At work, I do whatever's necessary to pass the time through the day. Literally. I come home, I fix dinner, I either watch TV, MUSH, craft or play the PS2 and when I'm ready to drop into bed, I do. I can't sleep unless I'm tired, so going to bed at a prescribed time doesn't work for me. Those are how my days go.

Sometimes there's other little things to make the days more interesting. This week the flasher on my car decided to die. I called my father to let him know I needed to get it fixed. I don't go to a car dealership or a mechanic to get my work done on my car, I go to my father. He used to be a mechanic. The next day, he drove all the way from Centreville to Odenton, MD where I work to fix my car for me. I didn't really expect him to do that, I expected him to wait until the weekend so I can drop by the house, but he did. That' s my dad. He goes to the end of the world to make sure his loved ones have everything that they need. We ended up going to lunch as well, and got caught up a bit during lunch time.

Aside from that, there's a part of me that feels as if I'm stuck in a holding pattern. In fact, I know I am. There's this other part of my life that hasn't gotten resolved yet. Oh, sure, the lawyers are working on it, but the stalling is getting old. I finally received notice that the papers my lawyer wanted them to sign have been signed. Things can move forward. I just now need to know when settlement is so we can proceed, and get this over with. I'll be very glad when that chapter in my life is finally closed. I consider it a learning experience in the deceptions of human nature. I won't be so blinded next time.

In general, life has been good, financial worries aside. Tax money is coming soon. This is good. It's needed, until I can get my settlement. I usually get a nice, hefty chunk back from the state and federal government. I'm hoping it'll be as much this year. I'm counting on it. But, we'll see what happens, I suppose. In the meantime, I trudge ever forward ahead.

WOOT TAX TIME!!! I love this time of year, I always get a good check back ;) Thats what I get for over paying during the year, I liek to have this little extra for a vacation, like the 2 month stint of mine in Maryland last year... Its fun to think that this day last year I was in my old stomping grounds :D

Oh conratz on the signing news, let us all know how things go from here. I love hearing about life out there.
