Rita Targets Houston

Well, not exactly Houston, but Houston is currently within the 5 day path of Tropical Storm Rita which is expected to turn into a Hurricane later today.

Not good. :/ Praying for all the NOLA evacuees that it takes a different course. The last thing they need is another hurricane coming after them.

The models are all heading this way now, too.

Fortunately, Houston isn't in as bad of a place as NOLA. It floods, but generally drains quickly; they're already starting voluntary evacuations in Galveston, which will catch the brunt if it comes in about where they're thinking, which is just south. Of course, that IS the dirty side.

I'm keeping an eye on it, but I'm not too worried, to tell the truth; of course, I also live well north, and my biggest problem would be the potential of flooding from the creek I live next to.
